Stratum: The RPG for everyone
Simple rules, simple rolls, simple fun!
Stratum was born from many days at the local game store, you might know the type. A Saturday spent trying to get a new campaign started. A planned session where you're pushing hard to try the new one-shot adventure you made. The spontaneous game you tried to setup with some new friends.
And then it took forever.
It took too long for the characters to get made. It took too long for the new players to decipher the instructions for the player sheet. One person had to buy more dice.
Finally in play, there's so many rolls to remember. "What's my proficiency in massaging golems again?"
So I made a simpler, easier to approach system.
One kind of dice, three stats, the modifiers, three rolls, three attributes.
A character you can build in ten minutes.
Ten minutes is all that's between you and your next adventure.

Simple Stats
Power represents strength, build, and constitution. Finesse represents agility, charisma, and personality. Knowledge represents intelligence, insight, perception. Adventurer life, mana, and movement are based on these stats.
Each stat has a modifier based on your adventurer class. Power for melee, finesse for ranged, knowledge for casters. Modifiers are added to your rolls to determine outcomes.
Every roll in game is a power, finesse, or knowledge "roll". Breaking down a door? Power. Need to remember that thing about that place back when? Knowledge.Trying to slip past a guard? Finesse.
Three stats + modifiers. Three rolls for everything. All with the most common dice in your house.
Simple to Start
How many of us have an old dice game in the closet? I have at least three. All you need to get going with Stratum are those dusty old dive from that one game.
I bet you have paper, and a pencil or pen or two. You'll want some paper too.
Gather some other humans, your rule book, and go!
Simple resources
Life, mana, movement. Life is calculated with power and finesse. Mana is calculated based on your knowledge. Movement is a combination of power and finesse. Each level gets some changes to the calculation and adds in the modifiers.
Life and mana both regenerate in combat.
Simple levels
Stratum has five levels for your adventurer to achieve. Stating at the beginning? Initiate is very easy to build, ~10 minutes.
Starting at higher levels is just as easy, use the calculations for the level of choice and build up your adventurer right away.
A little teaser: the monsters you face have the same stat structure as the player. For you game masters out there, this makes scaling quicker and easier for you.
